I'm unable to tell why this has happened, I did not get any other reports of this issue, but there was a similar issue with an earlier version resolved by a new patch. This can only mean that the files are corrupted. I've investigated your save files and the same issue occurs on my configuration. But it seems the GOG version is really mixed up a bit: from this page I see that the 1.6 adds 4 new languages, but according to the gamecard, some of them are already present in GOG version 1.5 – Japanese, Korean and Turkish – while one is omitted – Czech (I'm frowning!) – so, all is not well in the land of GOG :-) The first mention of it I've seen is the pre-order thread. If this particular issue persists, please, please send us Support tickets about it so we can get to the bottom of it, if need be :) I haven't encountered the bug myself for my last playthrough I used v1.4.
